I do clean them with boiling water once in a week. The kids don't like to carry very heavy boxes. I love those hand-painted boxes. Hope to win something nice. 😊Rachnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02275266551382931603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8476735626154033128.post-86075001545315002722017-01-29T12:42:52.921+05:302017-01-29T12:42:52.921+05:30Ah, beautiful lunch boxes and wonderful info. I have never had a need for tiffin boxes after school but I do think that one should carry stuff as much as possible to avoid temptation to eat samosas, patties and cup cakes. I remember my amma packing food in steel tiffins which were quite sturdy and no spillovers.

Lookin for more such informative posts.S. I remember when I was in school, I had my favourite lunch box which was blue and it was so pretty. I used to clean it and dry it myself as I didn't want anybody else to. Some of my classmates were envious every time I took it out of my lunch bag as the patterns on it we're so unique. I once lent it to a friend after she cajoled me into it but I never received it back. You just transported me to one of my old childhood memories so thank you! MoodyMamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00025445198091659199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8476735626154033128.post-89711089606550095242017-01-27T22:29:30.375+05:302017-01-27T22:29:30.375+05:30Hi Sangeeta, loved this post - It's informativ...Hi Sangeeta, loved this post - It's informative and all your suggestions are so practical / doable ! That's what I loved about it :)All the Lunchboxes at our home are cleaned daily with soap and water , and depending on what's been packed , with warm water too. Also cleaning immediately is important and we discard plastic ones every couple of months given how plastic tends to retain the smells longer than the rest. I love the idea of using basil leaves / orange rind - will definitely give that a shot !Simran Oberoi Multanihttp://ovenderfulhealthybaking.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8476735626154033128.post-58362489612426260362017-01-27T20:51:54.840+05:302017-01-27T20:51:54.840+05:30This is a great post...and yes, I also agree with ...This is a great post...and yes, I also agree with some of the points listed here to be very effective. Another thing I do quite often is that I cover the lunch bowl with a cling wrap before putting up the lid. This helps in preventing the oil and grease from the gravy enter the nooks of the lid. This helps maintain hygiene as well.Priyanka Bhattacharyahttps://www.speakingaloud.in/hashdiariesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8476735626154033128.post-85715339410167700202017-01-27T19:44:20.270+05:302017-01-27T19:44:20.270+05:30This is no doubt an informative post.In all points...This is no doubt an informative post.In all points I like that basil flower thing.I soak a cotton with some vanila essence and keep that in box.I wish to get that lovely hand-painted box :) They are so Beautiful. I am particularly thrilled with the idea of painted lunch boxes i think it will add to whole visual enhancement. We have different boxes for vegetarian items and different for non - vegetarian items being sent to school. As my son is really particular about strong odours this helps. And gives a feeling of variety with a new box every 2 days. Another idea which has worked for us is having small portions so that the kids have a sense of completion.Works perfectly for Waste Not. Want Not. :) :) Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15212111171334207818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8476735626154033128.post-15521870627434683662017-01-26T21:14:11.295+05:302017-01-26T21:14:11.295+05:30Beautiful lunch boxes. For cleaning I prefer to hand wash any plastic lids & steel boxes but glass kind goes in dishwasher. Also most of the air tight containers have silicone gaskets in the lid, which can be taken out, always make sure to clean that too and let it dry fully before putting it back.

I'm enjoying this series, keep it coming :)Spicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05780083912877289009noreply@blogger.com
